- From Managua, take the new highway North toward Leon and Chinandega.
- Follow the highway around Leon by making a right at the intersection, bypassing Leon city, and then another right to continue north toward Chinandega (NIC 12 starts here.)
- In Chinandega at the Rotundo, follow the first right exit to El Guasale and Cosiguina
- Travel 1.5 miles and look for the signs on the right for the Estero and Cosiguina. You will go over speed bumps along the way that are not marked so be careful and keep an eye out for them. At the left, stay toward the center lanes and turn into the lane where the tree is because it can be a little confusing. This is still NIC 12.
- Make a right at the lime green house with pink trim (on the right, just a short distance.) You will pass over a small bridge at the intersection just as you turn.
- At the first big intersection (6 corners) there are signs on the right for Volcan Cosiguina and Potosi. You will make a right at this intersection.
- At the Texaco station the road will divide. Follow left, entering the only road North towards Cosiguina and Potosi.
- You will pass the entrances to Aposentillo/Aseradores and Jiquilillo.
- At the El Rodeo medical station, continue straight for 36 kilometers. This road is currently being paved.At the end of the road improvements, continue straight (going right will take you to Cosiguina and Potosi.) Our driftwood sign is at the ¨V¨.
- Travel 13 km and make a left when you see the house with plastic walls and a new metal roof. You will see our driftwood sign that looks like an alligator.
- Follow this road 3.9 kilometers into Mechapa, and make a right turn into our resort which is right before you drive into the Pacific Ocean.
